Augmented Reality Portal inspired from the game by Valve (well, ... Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 179 seconds Augmented Reality Portal inspired from the game by Valve (well, sort of - a true AR Portal effect requires several cameras, maybe we'll do it later). The two devices can copy and paste each other's content in real-time. They also can add some video effects. |

Augmented Reality Video-in-Video Effects Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 266 seconds Various experiments using augmented reality and real-time tracking to do "video-in-video" effects. It starts with TV heads, then shows the first digital zoom only made of paper, and ends with a cool way to dress up an avatar. |

Interaction with an Augmented Reality Avatar Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 58 seconds A 3D markerless tracking demo. There is no way to hide : even if you use the pad to make the avatar go behind the house, the camera can move freely and find him. Well, it turns out the Youtube compression method works very badly with the image of the ground in this video. Still, I prefer this to big black and white markers ;-) |

Augmented Reality Remote Control Cars Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 161 seconds There is no real gameplay here in this prototype, and it's nevertheless a lot of fun. You simply have two virtual RCCs on a real mockup in front of you, and you drive them where you want. For the anecdote, one of the screams when the cars fall down is the famous Wilhelm scream. |

Large building tracking Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 120 seconds An old video I found on my hard drive. The building is the HQ of TV Asahi in Tokyo. The camera is at the top of another building. We could control it from a room inside TV Asahi. So we are actually tracking ourselves... This technical demo is here to show that you can zoom a lot and still track, alas with some drift. |

Avatar on a chair - 2002 and 2007 Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 53 seconds A virtual avatar on a real chair thanks to Augmented Reality ? Check out two different ways to do it... with 5 years of work between them, and about 30 more co-workers :-) ! |

Spot the ad - Recognition and tracking Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 194 seconds This is Studio Tracking. Well, I mean, we are tracking every ad in the French magazine "Studio". This early prototype has a low framerate when it is in search mode, but you can see we have the real-time tracking back in action as soon as the search is over. All the 40 ads in this magazine were taught to the PC. This is done with a standard PC and a standard - even sub-standard actually ! - webcam. |

2D/3D Helicopter (Augmented Reality) Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 98 seconds A 2D Helicopter played in a video turns into a 3D Helicopter that can go behind or in front of the video. It is far easier to look at the video than to try to understand the text above ! |

Infrared Virtual Face Mapping Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 129 seconds We just wanted to see what happened when you use the nightshot functionality of some standard camera. Here the camera is lying in front of the driver on the right of the steering wheel, and everything is done with a laptop on the passenger's seat. |

Augmented Reality Maintenance - Part 2 Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 88 seconds With the same set-up as with Part 1, here we put some emphasis on the motion we can do with no major loss of accuracy. Here throughout all the video the average error on the screw is less than half the screw. |

Augmented Reality Maintenance - Part 1 Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 259 seconds In this category, Augmented Reality Maintenance, I cannot show you some very impressive results we had because of legal matters with our (satisfied) customer. You can see it in his own technological showcase though somewhere in Europe :-) So here is a similar video, but, ahem, far more artisanal... but the stuff tracked here is far easier to carry abroad for a demo than a 300 kg motor ! |

Tracking outdoor - from far above Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 42 seconds Another proof-of-concept video for a real-time tracking of a camera in.. a blimp : here the distance between the camera and the "object" (the ground) is so large a planar model is enough. Yes, we rendered incredibly abstract stuff in this one... sometimes when you have no time to do something that is close to the expected final result, it's better not to bother at all ! :-) |

Tractor Trailer Tracking Trick Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 83 seconds You're probably seeing this AR-showcase video for the wrong reasons, Youtube is sending this link to fans of "true" John Deere models ! The physics of the trailer was done in a rush so it is mostly wrong. This video was more a quick demo to show that the tracking can handle a complex 3D object which is not so big in the image and which is not so textured. |

Augmented Reality Videoconference Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 72 seconds One of the earliest tracking demo we made. Back to "marker days". It was very quickly packaged to become a software with which you could show a 3D object in Augmented Reality to a distant person via IP. |

Augmented Reality Monster Posted by: EmmanuelMFr
Video duration: 26 seconds From the chest, the Alien way. Yes there is a big "marker" on the chest, but it is not an augmented reality marker like in AR Toolkit (the markers you see in many Augmented Reality videos on the Internet), just an "everyday" marker. |
